Mason A. Petit
Mason A. Petit of Spokane was appointed to his first term on the Washington State Investment Board in September, 2006 to represent active members of the Public Employee's Retirement System (PERS). He is a member of the WSIB's Public Markets and Audit committees.

Petit has worked in a variety of technical positions for the Washington State Employment Security Department both in Wenatchee and in Spokane for 28 years. In his current position as an Employment & Training Counselor, Mr. Petit assists workers who have been displaced by international trade agreements such as NAFTA and GATT. Mr. Petit also worked at the State Department of Social and Health Services and served as Chelan County Deputy Auditor in Wenatchee.

For the past 20 years, Mr. Petit was a shop steward for the Washington Federation of State Employees. From 1994 through 2001 he served as Treasurer, Vice President, and President for WFSE Local 1221. He was Vice President of the Spokane Regional Labor Council, AFL-CIO from 1999-2000.

Mr. Petit joined the United States Army immediately after graduating from Wenatchee High School in 1969. In 1977, he received an AA Degree from Wenatchee Valley College and has taken various business law, math, and economics courses at Spokane Community College and Eastern Washington University.
