John W. Magnuson, CPM, CRE Re-appointed to his third term beginning January, 2007 to December, 2009, Mr. Magnuson is a member of the WSIB’s Private Markets and Public Markets committees. Mr. Magnuson was recently honored as Instructor Emeritus by the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) and has spoken before a world real estate congress in Paris and Singapore. He taught real estate investment and management principles in Poland, Hungary, Italy and Korea and is the author of a book entitled Hot Topics: Exit Strategies for Real Estate Management Companies. Mr. Magnuson was awarded Washington State CERTIFIED PROPERTY MANAGER® of the Year in 1982 and his regional management company, Magnuson Management, Inc., received the 1989 Accredited Management Organization® (AMO®) OF THE YEAR AWARD from the Western Washington IREM Chapter #27. He was a founding trustee of the Washington Center for Real Estate Research and a founding shareholder and Chief Operating Officer of a real estate investment trust company that was traded on the New York Stock Exchange. Mr. Magnuson earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington.
